London is the capital of Great Britain... We often start our compositions or speeches with this sentence, but Great Britain is not only London. Of course, you must visit the capital of the country, but there are a lot of beautiful places and exciting sights worth visiting
Westminster Abbey
You have never heard about Westminster Abbey?! I can’t believe that, as Westminster Abbey is one of the most famous sights in London and Great Britain. It has been the Coronation church since 1066 and is the final resting place of seventeen monarchs. By the way, it was Westminster Abbey where Prince William and Kate Middleton got married last year.

Harry Potter Britain
One of my dreams is to visit Harry Potter Britain. I mean the places which Joanne Rowling has described in her books about that young magician. On the one hand, these books are light and exciting, but on the other hand, it gives very beautiful and detailed descriptions of landscape and arouses quite acute social problems. That’s why it is interesting for me to visit these places, sink into the atmosphere of Britain and be filled with magic.

Sherlock Holmes Museum
The first place in the UK I would like to visit is the Sherlock Holmes Museum. It's a popular museum in London dedicated to the famous fictional detective. I like the atmosphere of Conan Doyle's stories, and it would be very interesting and exciting to dip in this charming ambience.

Hyde Park
There are lots of beautiful parks in London. I would like to visit Hyde Park. It is one of thе most popular London parks. This park is famous for its Speaker’s Corner which attracts me. Here people of different beliefs and persuasions can say what they want to those who want to listen to them. It’s also a great opportunity to master your language. Moreover, next to Hyde Park there is a famous luxury department store which is called Harrods. Even if you are not going to buy anything, it’s worth visiting. You can relax there and eat something delicious.

Buckingham Palace
I would like to see different sights of Great Britain. First of all, I would like to visit Buckingham Palace. As I know it is the Centre of Constitutional Monarchy. Buckingham Palace serves as the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns. I think it’s a very beautiful and significant building. It’s furnished with many works of art which make up the Royal Collection. And also it is the main residence of the Queen. There are a lot of rooms, offices and bedrooms in this building. This is the place where different officials decide on state affairs. And I want to see this procedure of making decisions. And of course the Queen.

Pollock’s Toy Museum
I have always wanted to visit Pollock’s Toy Museum. It was just a small museum at first, where people could buy tickets to the Pollock’s Toy Theatre. But then the master bought new rooms to expand his museum. So, this place got famous rather quickly. And now it’s situated at 1, Scala Street and remains an attraction for tourists. I’m sure this museum is really worth seeing.

Cornwall and Snowdonia
There are many wonderful and enchanting places to visit in Britain, and they are not only in London. I have always been impressed by the picturesque British landscapes and dreamt of visiting much places as Cornwall and Snowdonia. Cornwall is famous for its dramatic and stunning coastline, small villages, tin mines, and ancient moorland. There is also a famous formation of pre-historic standing stones called Mên-an-Tol (or Men an Toll). Snowdonia in North Wales is known all over the world for its magnificent mountain scenery. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and England.

Robin Hood Festival
I would like to visit Robin Hood Festival in Sherwood Forest, England. The first video in English I saw was about this festival – colourful, fantastic, magic, cheerful, truly English. I was so much impressed. It was Robin Hood Festival that was the turning point after which I took interest in Great Britain and its culture, customs and traditions.

York Minster
To begin with, I like travelling and I have a dream of visiting as many countries as possible. Of course, Great Britain is not an exception. I believe this country is worth visiting as there are lots of places of interest, which can impress anyone: Stonehenge, York Minster, Oxford, Chatsworth House, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Devon and Dartmoor National Park... But most of all, I would like to visit York Minster – one of the world's most magnificent cathedrals, with foundations rooted in the nation's earliest history. There you can also attend an organ concert. I think it is gripping!

The Aberdeenshire Castle
My dream is to visit Scotland, especially its castles. In my opinion, it is hard to choose one to describe. But most of all, I suppose, I want to see the Aberdeenshire Castle. It is really interesting and exciting to visit the monuments of the olden time. Just imagine: you can see the places where the kings, the queens and the nobility walked around hundreds years ago. It's really stirring!
